This definitely was one of the best races
I have had in my career as a racing driver. We
were able to win a race in a car that shouldn’t
even have been able to challenge for it. We came
into this race just needing a top 3 in our class
then already we would have the championship in
the bag. Then qualifying first place with a time
of 1:10.1 seconds I knew top 3 in our class
would not be satisfying enough and that I would
be going for the win overall.

Race 1:
The only thing I had to do was finish the race
ahead of everyone in my class and the driver
that was second Thomas Raldorf my new teammate
for the weekend so I was not worried. When the
lights went out I had a little to much wheelspin
so for the first corner I was sandwiched between
Apathorn and Preeda, and Apathorn managed to get
past me. The next 5 laps I was stuck behind
Apathorn and trying to block Op at the same time
who was in third. At the end of the straight he
would sometimes hit me in the back trying to
scare me, but I didn’t budge. Then a big
accident happened and the red flags starting
waving so we all slowed down getting ready for
the restart. On the restart I had a good start,
and I tucked in into 2nd behind Apathorn. No
matter how good a start I will get I would not
be able to pass an A class car in the start just
because they have 70-80 hp more than me. The
rest of the race I was just following the
leader, luckily for me his pace was quite fast
so we were able to break away from the pack.
Then on the last lap something unexpected
happened again at the end of the straight. We
came full speed coming into the corner and
noticed there was engine oil everywhere, we
tried to stop and go around the oil but it was
too late. Once we were on the oil there was no
chance we could stop, we tried everything from
pumping the brakes, shifting down gears, nothing
worked. It felt exactly driving on frozen ice.
We both skidded of the track and I touched the
barrier and of course my engine stalled. I
restarted as quickly as possible got back out on
the track but I already fell back and finished
in ninth right in front of Thomas Raldorf. I
have to thank Thomas for not passing me at that
time and blocking for me while I was coming out
of the gravel, because he knew that if I won
that race I would have won the championship,
which I did.
Race 2:
Bruno said to me on the grid before the start,
“there is nothing wrong with winning overall.”
And that’s exactly what we did. Started from
first and finished in first. Had a great start
and was challenged a bit through the first
corner, but managed to keep them behind. After
that I pulled a gap from everyone. It was like a
yo-yo, except every time the string would go
down, it was a little longer. Every lap on the
straight they would catch me 3 car lengths, and
in the corners I would pull 4 car lengths per
lap. This is the first time in Thailand a C
class wins overall so we all really happy, and
next year we will be back, much faster and even
stronger!
